Biography

Soprano Paige Gadbois is a Nashville-based performer and educator whose career is defined by a unique duality: the discipline of the classical stage and the soul of contemporary improvisation. Originally from West Michigan, she has spent her life cultivating a professional path marked by fiery agility, sparkling high notes, and an authenticity of expression that brings a vivid life to the score.

On the operatic stage, Paige has been praised for her lyric voice’s freedom and bloom. A native of Grand Rapids, she was the recipient of the 2021 Betty Van Andel Scholarship, an honor that recognized her early promise in the field. She found her home in the repertoire as Le feu in Ravel's L'enfant et les sortilèges with Grand Valley State University and later starred as Mary in William Grant Still’s Highway 1, U.S.A. at the University of Michigan. In the summer of 2022, she appeared as Sandrina in Mozart’s La finta giardiniera with Opera Seme in Arezzo, Italy, where her tear-jerking and laughter-inducing performance was met with emphatic praise from an all-Italian audience. Her classical foundation also informs a deep stylistic instinct for early music and art song, earning her recognition from NATS judges for a "touching, preternatural sense of phrasing."

Paige is a frequent collaborator in the Anglican choral and oratorio traditions. In 2024, she appeared as the soprano soloist for Handel’s Messiah with Christ Church Grosse Pointe under the baton of Scott Hanoian. She has also toured England with the Christ Church choir for week-long residencies at several of the UK’s most prestigious cathedrals, including St. Paul’s Cathedral in London and Bristol Cathedral in 2025, as well as Salisbury and Wells Cathedrals in 2024. Her concert repertoire also features works such as J.S. Bach’s Wedding Cantata (BWV 202), performed with a period-informed chamber ensemble featuring harpsichordist Shuntaro Sugie and coached by Joseph Gascho.

Beyond the classical world, Paige is a soulful interpreter of jazz standards, funk, soul, and gospel. She has fronted ensembles ranging from intimate jazz groups to Tommy Pancy’s 13-piece big band. Now based in Nashville, she brings this professional instinct to the recording booth and the live stage, incorporating a deep fondness for country and western into her commercial and session work.

Paige holds a Master of Music in Voice Performance from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Music from Grand Valley State University. Her pedagogical background is deeply rooted in vocal health, having studied with esteemed mentors including Dr. Rachael Gates, author of The Owner’s Manual to the Voice, and renowned singing voice therapist Freda Herseth. With over six years of teaching experience, Paige helps singers of all ages build a voice that combines artistic expression with technical strength and long-term sustainability.
